Elka Nikolova
Writer/Producer/Director

Elka Nikolova co-directed the documentary, The Warmth of My Home (1995; Part of Museum of Modern Art`s video collection). She produced and directed two short films,
Prelude to Yesterday and My Mother Wore Pink (in post-production). Nikolova served as Program Coordinator for the 2nd Bulgarian Film Festival, NYC (2001), and worked as an Associate Producer at Great Jones Productions in NYC. Currently she works as an Associate for Dateline NBC and The Today Show in New York. She studied film production at The New School University, New York, completing her MA in Media Studies in 2001. From her Master`s thesis, Women Directors on Women in Bulgarian Cinema, she developed the concept for a documentary about Binka Zhelyaskova.

Producer
Stanimir Trifonov, Executive Director

Vreme Film Studio, Ltd. produces 35 and 16mm film and video films: feature, documentary, popular-scientific, children's, etc. For a number of decades Studio Vreme has been producing Bulgaria’s newsreels and national film archive. It possesses unique episodes documenting the political and social changes in Bulgarian society at the end of the 80-ies and the beginning of the 90-ies. Today the Studio offers various film or video services and participates in co-productions.

Dawn Jordan
Associate Producer

Ms. Jordan is a graduate of the Master of Arts program in Media Studies from The New School. She has directed and produced two short films, Tunnel Visions and The Bestseller, (DuArt Award – Excellence in Sound Design), which have both been featured in numerous international and domestic film festivals. Ms. Jordan is a Producer in the Advertising & Promotions Department at Showtime Television Network.


 

Stephanie Vevers
Associate Producer

Arts documentary producer and developer, Ms. Vevers has worked in video and television since the mid-1980s, and she has shot and edited art and video programs for the Klezmatics, AmericanTrance Productions, and numerous non-profit organizations. She has worked as Associate Producer for New York Times Television, as corporate video producer for Advanced Micro Devices, Austin,Texas, and for The Fine Arts Work Center of Provincetown, Mass. For this project, Ms. Vevers is working on research and fundraising.

 

Hristo Bakalov
Cinematographer/Camera Operator

Mr. Bakalov has worked in film production for over twenty years. He has shot features and documentaries in Bulgaria, Europe and US. Feature films: “Silence”; “The Devil’s Tale”; “Whirly Girl”. Member, Bulgarian Association of Cinematographers, and the Union of the Bulgarian filmmakers. Partner, Parallax Films. Producer Murder by Proxy and The Devil’s Tale. Мr. Bakalov lives and works in Cоnnecticut, USA.

 

 

Vanyo Georgiev
Cinematographer/Camera operator

Before he moved to New York in 2006 Mr. Georgiev worked in television and documentary production in Bulgaria for 8 years. He worked for the popular TV show “Monday at 8:30” produced by the National Film Studio Boyana, which aired on National TV from 1998 - 2001. He shot a number of documentary films: “35mm Memories”, “Boreto”, “Picnic on the Grass”, “The Bulgarian Wings”, “Destination Unknown” and the short films “Date” and “The Kiss”. He currently works in film and television in New York City.
